P.E at St Teresa's
Here at St Teresa's we believe that children should be given ample opportunity to get physical and help them to promote a healthy lifestyle. We offer a range of sporting activties both in and out of school times, and we work alongside South Ribble sports coaches every Tuesday where the children experience coaching from an experienced teacher and are able to use different equipment.
We have been awarded the Silver School Games Mark. After receiving Bronze last year, this is fantastic news and recognises just how hard both the children and staff work towards making phyiscal education a big part of the curriculum.
The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. The Mark is a retrospective award which will validate your success over the ongoing academic year. Reasons for applying:
- OfSTED can use the Mark award as part of their inspection framework
- It can be used as a development tool to aid the PE teacher or Head teacher; gaps in the curriculum are easily identifiable
- The logo can be added to letterheads and email signatures to show our outstanding commitment to school sport.
