Design and Technology

Design Technology at St. Teresa’s is taught within a creative topic and uses the creativity and imagination of children to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts.

When designing and making in both Key Stages, the children are taught to design, make, evaluate their products, whilst developing their technical knowledge.

Cooking and Nutrition is a key area of Design Technology which is taught in both key Stages. Instilling a love of cooking in children will also open a door to one of the great expressions of human creativity. Learning how to cook is a crucial life skill that enables pupils to feed themselves and others affordably and well, now and in later life.
